SCA will engage local students (ages 15-19) from the Boston area this summer in restoration projects around the city. Students will work in hands-on environmental conservation projects such as trail restoration, invasive plant removal, bridge building, and education in this 6-week program (July 7-August 15) designed to develop leadership skills, learn about urban park care and management, and most importantly have fun!
Students are recruited by site partners from local neighborhood schools, church groups and youth programs in and around Franklin Park. Crews of ten will be led by two crew leaders, who will provide students with environmental education lessons related to the work projects. Environmental education days and field trips will be conducted once a week in order for students to understand how their project relates to conservation in the Boston-area.
