The first photo of Jack Dolstad is from Olympic National Park, 1969. Jack Dolstad was an SCA supervisor Executive Director 1970-1975.

Yes Garrett, you may have missed that Jack was Executive Director, but HE would have preferred being referenced first as a crew supervisor!

The color photograph on the right is actually reproduced in the reception area here at SCA HQ in Charlestown. Jack was the SCA Executive Director from 1970-1975, I don’t know how I missed this.

Jack was one of the most remarkable people i did not get to meet. Many, many stories shared by Liz Putnam and my good friend (who I’ve been out of touch with too long) Doug Dolstad, Jack’s son, has made me realize that it is still possible to be a pioneer no matter how modern the world gets. Like Liz, Jack held SCA together in the early days at times only sheer will could do the trick. Those of us that are here today with SCA are following in some giant footsteps.
