Carson-Iceberg Wilderness (Duty Station: Carson City, NV)

The USFS is seeking one intern to work in the Carson – Iceberg Wilderness completing monitoring to help meet the goals of the 10-Year Wilderness Stewardship Challenge. This will include monitoring opportunities for solitude, completing campsite inventories, and identifying invasive weed issues in the wilderness.Other duties involve making public contacts and posting information regarding wilderness ethics and regulations.The Forest Service will provide supervision, transportation while on the job, and housing. The typical schedule will be working/camping for 8 days, with 6 days off. Intern will need to provide sturdy hiking boots and large backpack (70 L recommended). Sleeping bag, cooking gear, and water filter can be provided.
