Commencement

SCA’s Conservation Commencement is a moment at the end of our traditional summer field season to thank our volunteer members throughout the nation for their service, to recognize our government and nonprofit partners, to reflect on the value and impact of the conservation work accomplished, and to consider how we might all better live an ethic of conservation.

SCA's first Commencement in 2005 was keynoted by Scott Russell Sanders, followed by Bill McKibben in 2006, Stephen Trimble in 2007, and Gloria Flora in 2008.
