Martin Luther King, Jr., Day

PDF Print E-mail
On January 16, 2005, four staff and nine students from DC's Conservation Leadership Corps worked on trails at Hard Bargain Farm in Accoceek Maryland.

We restored a trail at Hard Bargain Farm that thousands of elementary school children use every year to learn about ecology.

The trail is located through a marsh near the Potomac River and tends to collect and hold large amounts of water from rainstorms. As a result several sections of the trail are impassable with mud and water. We spent the day constructing new sections of boardwalk and repaired existing sections. We constructed 1 footbridge, 2 boardwalks and repaired and stabilized 5 sections of boardwalk.
