SCA Enters New Partnership with North Cascades Institute |

This summer, forty urban youth will have the experience of a lifetime.
in the heart of the rugged North Cascades. Thanks to funding from the Arthur Carhart National Wilderness Training Center, the SCA and the North Cascades Institute are initiating a visionary new free program to instill and cultivate a conservation ethic in urban youth while giving them recreational opportunities in a spectacular wilderness setting.
The North Cascades Wild program entails four ten-day sessions on Ross Lake and along the lake shore. Participants begin their journey at the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center before traveling up Ross Lake in canoes, camping along the way at various sites. They will learn valuable outdoor canoe and conservation skills while giving back to the land through service projects. Projects include campsite restoration and native plant seed
