Share your love for the environment!

  • Environmental Education Internships are great positions for anyone looking to gain experience in the conservation field.  Not only will you have the opportunity to share your passion for the environment with young people, but you will also be able to make important contacts in the field.
  • In 2007 there were nearly 200 SCA internships in Environmental Education located in 36 states and working with state, federal, and private agencies, including the National Park Service, US Fish and Wildlife Service, and The Nature Conservancy.
  • Environmental educators share their passion for the environment with young people by developing and presenting education programs to school groups.
  • Your formal training might include site orientation; environmental education teaching techniques; how to design a school program; learning styles; and specific operations training.  On-the-job training will also be provided, including mentoring and program coaching that take place throughout your internship.
  • Sites are typically looking for interns who are comfortable with public speaking, eager to learn more about a specific area, and have some experience working with children.  Experience in education can be helpful, but is not required.
