High School Students Take on Hurricane Damage
|
|
In 2006, six high school students from across the country spent the month of June working in Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve in Jacksonville to repair damage caused by recent hurricanes in the area. They cleared and repaired fence lines, managed dense overgrowth, and removed downed trees in sections of the park that had been heavily impacted. This crew was the first for SCA in Florida in many years, and blazed a trail for many future crews to come.
