Pittsburgh Earth Day

Join SCA and City Council President Doug Shields on April 19th in a community effort to remove litter and trash from the community of Hazelwood. 

In addition, we will be dedicating 50 volunteers and staff to a planting of many tree and shrubs by the Glenwood Bridge entrance to Hazelwood.
 
What: Earth Day 2008 with the Hazelwood Initiative
When: April 19th, 2008, 8:30 am - 12:00 noon
Where: 5125 Second Avenue at the corner of Johnson Avenue
Who:  SCA Alumni, SCA Conservation Leadership Corps (CLC) members, Leadership Environmental Advancement Program (LEAP) members, SCA Staff, Hazelwood Initiative Community Group, SCA Supporters
Why: To bring awareness to the community on the benefits of recycling and proper disposal of garbage, Beautify an important historic community in the city of Pittsburgh.

Details:

  •  Snacks will be provided by several local establishments
  • Bring full water bottles
  • Wear sunscreen
  • Long sleeves and pants recommended
  • Gloves and tools will be provided
