Summer Employment Opportunities Working with Youth in Jacksonville ParksAre you interested in making a difference in the lives of Jacksonville youth, parks, and communities this summer? The Student Conservation Association is currently accepting applications for Crew Leader positions for the 2009 Jacksonville Conservation Crew Program.
Responsibilities:
Co-lead and mentor a team of ten high school participants ages 15-18 yrs old for four weeks (Mon-Fri. 8hrs/day) completing an assortment of hands-on conservation projects in Jacksonville area parks and plan and lead weekly educational field trips. There is also a possibility of a 2-3 night camping trip.
Program and Training Dates:
Program Dates: June 16-July 11
Applicants must be able to attend one of the following training* sessions:
- Session 1: May 15th-23rd
- Session 2: May 30-June 6
Additional professional development courses including Wilderness First Aid are offered prior to training. *travel, accommodations, and food provided at training
Salary:
$450-$500/week for 4 weeks depending on qualifications and experience
Qualifications: Experience working with urban youth; ability to maintain a safe
productive and enjoyable work environment; strong interest in working with and
mentoring youth; outdoor skills; 21yrs or older; valid driver’s license for 3+ years and clean driving record; current First Aid and CPR certifications or ability to obtain.
