The joint effort will enable SCA volunteers to restore damaged desert landscapes, revegetate native plants, preemptively monitor wildfire conditions, and perform other conservation assignments in conjunction with land management agencies from coast to coast. SCA members will travel from project to project in specially-detailed Conservation in Motion Honda Ridgeline vehicles. The first projects are to be conducted this summer in California, Minnesota, Michigan, Massachusetts, New York, Maine and Florida.
"Honda’s commitment to public lands stewardship is evident in its groundbreaking technologies, environmental learning centers, and overall support of SCA’s mission,” says SCA Senior Director for Partnership Development Don Hunger. “Through this partnership, Honda and SCA will protect environmentally sensitive habitats and public lands.”
With its contribution of Ridgeline vehicles, the 2006 Motor Trend Magazine Truck of the Year, Honda will facilitate safe and dependable access into remote locations where four-wheel drive is required. “Honda is a company that strives to contribute to a better environment,” notes Honda’s Dave Edwards, National Manager, environment and education, motorcycle division. “Through Conservation in Motion,we are proud to assist SCA in the achievement of its important resource management goals, and in fostering environmental stewardship within a new generation of future leaders."
